he doesn't understand the intangible beauty of basketball. maybe some introspection would give shaq a sense of balance between himself, the ball and the rest of his environment. it's just zen.

one ball, one universe.
 
we're looking at a tiny corner; that's not total awareness. we think in comparisons ... one basket, two baskets, &c. we only go so far, there's always some measurement. this creates an illusion and the mind separates itself from the rest of the universe that it has calculatively broken down.
 
yadda yadda yadda. that's where zen comes in. nobody could care any less.

Book

This book actually was on the "New" table at Borders. Not really so new. I read this book back in high school and it really is a life changing book. I know I took something away from it and to this day (10 years later) still use some of the insight I gained from this book
