It will be interesting to see how this case turns out.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Delaware, marks another blow for a closely watched gadget that has drawn fire from publishers that say Amazon is trying to avoid paying royalties.

The lawsuit claims that Amazon, in two versions of its Kindle, has infringed one or more of the claims on a patent that Discovery founder John Hendricks received in November 2007.

What could happen? If Discovery wins they they get their money from Amazon. Then Amazon will have to decide whether they want to continue to pay royalities or to design their own system for purchasing and distribution of books that doesn't use Discovery's technology.

This suit isnt going to go anywhere, theyd have to sue apple for the iphone apps store and many other companies.

For some reason it appears that AMAZON have a halo, wings and harp in this forum, it is well known that Amazon are being sued in several different areas, they simply have the money do do what they want, even disobey copyright and Integrity laws.
