Hi,
I have been trying to find a film which I had thought was called "The
Other" without success. While I have found 2 other films with identical
or almost identical names, they were not the film which I have been
looking for, so I am starting to wonder if I am not remembering the
correct name for this film.
This is what I remember.
The film showed an F.B.I. agent who was looking for a violent criminal on
a crime spree. At one point I believe he hooked up with a local police
officer. The police officer was becoming increasing suspicious of this
F.B.I. agent who seemed to be rapidly changing the direction of his
search. He was continuosly choosing different subjects.
The suspects being changed had a few traits in common although each
person had no relationship to the other. They all seemed to have the
emotional nature of an out of control teenager and a massive appreciation
for loud rock music such as punk rock and over-powered vehicles such as
Stingrays and Corvettes. Many of the original subjects that were being
discarded over the length of the search had no pevious criminal records
and in fact were rather unlikely persons to be involved in such a crime
spree.
Finally, we learn why the path of this agent is so bizzarre and
illogical. It seems that the persons being chased are as much victims as
the other persons being victomized in the crime spree. An alien creature
enters the mouths of human victims to take over their bodies and is using
thm for this bizzarre rite until the victim's bodies are completely used
up. At one point, the creature even enters the mouth of a dog to take
over it's life and escape from the police. At other opportunities the creature
takes over a sexy female dancer's body as well as a portly executive's body. This aspect can add a lot of humor to the scenario of this film.
Apparently... the F.B.I. agent is not very human himself. He comes from
the same system as the criminal he is pursuing and the body which he is
using has been borrowed as well in order to hunt down this suspect.
OK..... As might be obvious, I would appreciate it if someone who
recognises this film could correct me if I have the title wrong, and
'Otherwise', please let me know if this is the correct title and if
possibly it is out of print and sort of stricken from the internet
records as I search for it. If I have the title correct, and the film
is out of print, is there somewhere a copy might be found?
