Harlan Ellison

Those are great. I never considered the idea that there are semantic differences for science fiction and sci-fi. His point in the first clip about writing is common sense, but I'm sure there are plenty of writers who do give away work for the promise of exposure and publicity which does nothing for them. He even managed to reference Alfred Bester's The Demolished Man which is one of the all-time best science fiction (definitely not "sci-fi") novels of the twentieth century and the one I favor of Bester's big two - the other being The Stars My Destination. Thanks for posting these.

This news is heartbreaking. I have admired him for many years. And loved to introduce his work to others.
I'm constantly re-reading him.
I bought my best friend and myself his 2008 dvd - Dreams with Sharp Teeth.
Thank you for the alert.
