the author teaches in sociology department in a college & owns a motobike repairing shop - as long as i can recall but not sure of that.

like he's got his own brain & hands to work at two different worlds.

help me to find it. thanks alot.

College? Motorcycle?

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig, comes to mind.

Sorry. Didn't understand that Libra's post may have closed out the question. Live and learn. :)

It's possible the OP's recollection of the book was fuzzy and you're right with Zen. We won't know until he comes back.

sparkchaser, you're right with the comments.

Zen... is not what i wanted. It's famous but not of what i wanted.

so please try to think more.

and as to the article, it's great that i would find time to read it.

very close - to Libra's suggestion
maybe it has hit the right target as i browsed through reader's reviews on the book at Amazon.

sound like it, good job for Libra~

but hey i discovered a different thought as the book's first edition publishing date to be May 28, 2009.

but i saw its introduction essay in UTNE Reader, the magazine, a couple of years ago - so probably this's not what i'm looking for. :whistling:

does it mention the author's academic background - what department did he teach? did he teach in sociology department as i could recall?

okey dokey, libra, it's done!

now could you do me one more favor? I'll appreciate it.

I remember back in a couple of years ago, i noticed of an essay on UTNE too that the author tells us of which side to be happier for people living here - in capitalist countries or in socialist countries. And I thought the idea was interesting for the book that could be.

Could you help me find out the book by searching on UTNE or google it? (i don't have author's name on the mind)

Another author? I don't understand. Why don't you go to the UTNE site and seach archives.
