How Old aRE YOU?

Hi, I would need the help of somebody who has already read "The eight", by Katherine Neville. The question is just this: in the book a special code is described such that ages of people are expressed with numbers like 1914; would you know the rules of this code?

I wonder how many people have actually clicked on this thread entitled "how old are you?"

Next time use a less intimidating title... ;):D

SMirK. You said it. I was thinking, 'Who IS this newb and why do they want to know our age?'

Sorry, haven't read the book, but is 1914 such an unusual code in the book for a person's age? That one seems easy.
