There is tons and tons of advice out there on the net on how to promote your book. I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread for any one to offer their own tips and advice on how to do it. Or comment, or just venture an opinion
My first tip is #2 on this list (

2. Contribute to Web Forums
Every field has at least one or two forums that people interested in your subject know and read. Find and join these forums.
Contribute to them freely. Give advice and reach out. Offer to help others. Put a link to your blog or website in your signature line. When you have a book title, add the title to your signature line.
If you have any other tips, advice, or thoughts please contribute them here.
I agree.
My dilemma is that, although I have some clicks on Gumroad and many on Pinterest, so far, I haven't received any sales.
I don't know if it's because of my eBook covers (although I've since improved on them), the fraction of pages highlighting my eBooks, my fees (currently at a bargain basement price for Center Parcs and The Cure), the genres, or because I don't have any ratings and feedback as a testimonial, but I'm struggling to gain any download and purchase traction.
I know that this is a very common situation with many authors, so I know that I'm not alone, but, although I always have the reader and customer in mind whereby I write eBooks on topics that are within my remit, as I have most knowledge in them, that I think would be of interest to them, I'm also very keen to make sales to my paid eBooks, which would help pave the way to help me achieve all my goals that I can't currently afford.
Over time, I might outsource parts or all of my eBooks to compliment my own efforts, as I enjoy writing, but I haven't yet found the key to encourage downloads to my free and paid eBooks.
I've seen mention on several sites online that owning a Web Site can help authors increase their chances and succeed with sales.
There are so many web site options available, including variable hosting costs for full web sites, plus Carrd and equivalent one page web sites.
Nowadays, web sites can be created with AI, in addition to the conventional code-based methods, which is perfect for anyone who isn't well up on coding.
I have to admit that, anyone who owns their own web site has the invaluable privilege of being able to showcase all of their content in one place.
As Photography is another pastime of mine, including photographing birds, I could showcase Bird photos on a future web site in conjunction with my eBooks and unrelated topics, which would give readers a variety of themes to view, whether free or paid content, and as Birds are well loved around the world, uploading photos of them might increase the number of readers.
