I've not read Rum diaries or anything more recent than TGSH ... and that was long ago. I think his affinity with Ernest Hemingway was unhealthy, to say the least!

The Rum Diary is in production now. Johnny Depp will play the role of Paul Kemp as well as (executive) producing the movie.

Just finished "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and loved it. Hunter the character is so out of control, but Hunter the writer is totally in control of the story. Very interesting and very funny.
