the Quick Links thingy at the top, and I've learned that viewing who's online can be beneficial-I see guests looking at topics that have been gathering dust, that interest me. However, I can't figure out why someone would be reading a printable version of a thread?

Because they are bots and they just follow all the links on a page.

Thread Tools, at the top of each page of a thread. And, if you want to view the forum with a phone, then you can use the Archive link at the bottom right.

For an example, go back to the weather thread and at the top, there's a search button with a pull-down menu. One of the options is to view a printer friendly version of the thread.

Sometimes a thread will include information that someone might want to print for reference later, like books suggested or how-to's and it is nice to have the option of weeding out all the panels and sidebars.

thanks!

I rarely look at extra stuff at the tops of forums. I intended for my original post to point out how nice it is sometimes to find an interesting old thread by being a little nosy. ;)
