Ignore options

I have decided to test out the "ignore list" option, and the result is interesting....but maybe not what would be a perfect solution for me. Is there any way of having an option that allows for ignoring a specific thread instead of ignoring a specific member?
 
When you ignore a member does it block all threads that member has posted on? Or do you not see their posts?
 
No, it does not block the thread regardless of who starts it. What get's blocked is the post itself....you see a neat little statement about the poster of this thread is on your ignore list, and the word ignore is a link to that list in case you want to remove the member from the list.....

Not clicking on the thread with that name would work.

True, but I was hoping, and I did not word it this way, that "ignored threads" ight not appear when you click "new posts" ....
 
The problem with iggy for me is that I get too curious as to what the given ignoree is saying, I just have to know what prurient, mendicant observation the person has posted.:D
 
Moto - as far as I am aware there is no way of ignoring an entire post save not opening it. The ignore function can be useful but it does rather disrupt the flow of conversation.

How can you possibly want to ignore any of the wonderful people on TBF?!:)
 
If someone is on your ignore list can they still send you PMs? or will it block those as well?

Thank you Ronny for helping me test this function out :)

It would appear that if someone if on your ignore list, you can still send a message to them (ie you do not receive an error message) but it is not received.

We're not ignoring the wonderful people here, we're wanting to ignore those that aren't so wonderful ;)

I for one have one person on my ignore list. What did it take to get there you may wonder? Simple enough: a rather horrid flaming and a show of disrespect that I haven't even been exposed to in my position as Admin elsewhere, where one might expect to get bitched at. I decided that when the person flamed me so badly and didn't have any interesting posts to weigh it up I simply put them on my ignore list to prevent myself from giving into temptation and post scathing remarks in their direction.

I find it quite handy, I wish more forums had an Ignore option.

Man, you lost me on that reference... But either way, as SFG said, you've never seen a penguin lay the smack down quite like I can where monkeys are concerned... Hey, that reminds me, where's Leckert these days??
 
Am I totally off mark here? Gods how embarrassing.

I was referring to the fictional crush thread... where I was sure you'd said you'd fight me for Hettar. I was too lazy to go check... still am *sigh* I should just go to sleep :p

Oh yeah! I kicked your arse so easily I clean forgot about that. Hettar says hi, by the way.

Edit: I'm such an arrogant penguin today. I don't know what's gotten into me.
