I am reading for the first time a Colin Dextor novel on Inspector Morse. Last Bus to Woodstock. I have seen many of the TV adaptations, but this is my first read.

What did you think of it? I enjoyed it. I found it a little slow in places, and lacking in how the police go about their work (not that I know any of that) but I felt there should have been more procedure detailed. Maybe police work back then was more reliant on gut-feelings and guess work. I should read more of Dexter's work, I suppose. I enjoyed it more than watching the TV series. There's more of an understanding of how Morse's mind works.
