I'm not that big of fan of vampire books, but I loved this vampire/alternate history confection. It's set in London, 1888, and Queen Victoria is married to Vlad Tepes and all of England is falling under the spell of vampirism. Add to this, there is a murderer walking the streets of Whitechapel, preying on vampire prostitutes, who refer to him as 'Silver Knife', but who has given himself another name, 'Jack the Ripper'. Peopled with tons of literary and real figures, e.g., Dr. Jekyll, Professor Moriarty, Dr. Moreau, Inspector Abberline, etc, this one isn't that scary but was great fun to read. Followed by 2 sequels, The Bloody Red Baron and Dracula Cha Cha Cha, both of which are in my tbr pile.
