Hello All,
I am looking for a poem called "Seventeen," though I can't recall the name of the poet or the publication (or anthology) that it was printed in. I read it a couple years back for a poetry class, but, unfortunately, can’t recall any of the particulars other than its name, and, of course, its incredible poignancy and beauty. My web searches have turned up nothing...
The poem, which I am assuming was composed within the last thirty years or so, is about a boy putting a wounded dog out of its misery and losing his innocence as a result.
I would greatly appreciate it if any of you could point me towards either the poet of the work or a publication that contains it.
Thanks in advance!
