Looking for similar books to Rice, Kostova, Pearl

I am looking for reading suggestions for this summer.

Some of my favorites are Anne Rice's Mayfair Witch trilogy, Kostova's Historian, and Pearl's Dante Club. Any suggestions for books similar to these? I think that the link here is books based or dealing with history or literature.

Suggestions anyone?

You could try The Book of Shadows by James Reese. He has the same over-descriptive and lush style as Rice did (when her books were good anyway). I know Matthew Pearl recently published his second novel, only this time he writes about Edgar Allen Poe.

I will definately get the Book fo Shadows. I have heard about Pearl's new book. And Poe is a favorite of mine, so I have to put that one on the list. Thanks!
