Mo Hayder: Pig Island

I'm a big fan of her first 2 novels, Birdman and The Treatment. I also liked Tokyo, though not as much. Pig Island was nowhere near as good as any of those. On a positive note, I remember being shocked by the twist at the end, which is always a good thing. Because the main characters were really unsympathetic, I found the story never really grabbed me and sucked me in. Thank goodness for the ending; it saved me from hating the book and moved me to indifference.
IMHO she should stick more to crime fiction, as that seems to be her strength.
Have you read any of her other stuff? Like I said, the other books are much better... so I hope this book doesn't put you off her entirely!
