New vamp style

I love vampire stories but I prefer the newer stlye. I liked Shatter Glass, Sunshine by Robin Mckinley, and The Silver Kiss a lot. I was wondering if you could give me some that are similar to those.

Have you tried Laurell K. Hamilton? I would totally reccommend her earlier books. They turn to pure pornography after the eighth book, but the first seven are completely wonderful.

You should give "Fat White Vampire Blues" by Andrew Fox a try. Also "Vamped" I forgot the author name though.

I would say that Vampire Kisses and Kissing Coffins: Vampire Kisses 2 by Ellen Schrieber could be good choices. They use the entire "New Style". Also, try Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Very good. I'm not sure on this one, but the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan. I'm not sure if it has the right "New Style you're looking for. Four others all by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes: In the Forests of the Night, Demon in My View, Shattered Mirror, and Midnight Predator. Read them in that order. More old style, but with a couple of new twists.

L.A. Banks isn't that bad. She writes a series of books about a character named Damali Jones. The books remind me of what would happen if Laurell K. Hamilton became inspired by the Blade character (and decided to focus on plot instead of sex).

No offense to Anamnesis, but I tried reading L.A. Banks and got a serious headache. I couldn't comprehend why a vampire would decide to become a drug dealer, among other things...I tried really hard to like it, but I couldn't. And all the slang got on my nerves. I absolutely couldn't like any of the characters, although I tried very hard to.

Plus, it looked way too much like a rip-off of Buffy. As someone on amazon.com said, I hope Banks sent Joss Whedon a gift basket, because she made a lot of money off of stealing from his work.
