Pay for Press Release

How do you feel about this site?
Waste of time.

It looks like you pay money and then they craft a press release and send bulk mails to 'partners' - the likes of CNN, USA Today, NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, etc. - which aren't interested in the first place. You don't get mentioned in the NY Times - what did you expect? It's not their fault, they submitted your press release, just like you paid them for.

Not realistic.

You only have to look at their Benefits page:

How will you benefit from joining the Targeted Media Publicity Program?

Your book will be promoted professionally and you will save money.

PR firms and independent publicists charge upwards of $5,000 to design and implement a publicity campaign that they use only once.

The Targeted Media Publicity Program offers sustained value as a fast and strategic campaign that provides yo uwith an instant database for future correspondences.
So, er, you save money by giving them it. No other benefits? (Spelling mistake in last sentence aside, what exactly is sustained value?)
