Yeah, Frank Black's Teenager of the Year was terrific.

Also, I should have mentioned Neutral Milk Hotel and Olivia Tremor Control. NMH having put out what may be the single greatest album of my generation. Soft and sweet.

And I have to restrain myself from buying the reproduction of the "Radio Clyde 261" shirt that Zappa used to rock.

Yeah? I'll take good hip hop recommendations.

But I'm pretty snobby. I like Mos Def and Black Star. But hate Taleib's solo stuff.
Love Deltron 3030, but I don't care much for Del's solo stuff.
Like old Blackalicious and J5 because it was an alternative to the super ghetto stuff of the mid-90s. But their new stuff is unevolved.

I haven't heard a new artist in the last ten years or so that had something cool to say. So if you've got any smart and non-egotistical guys in mind, lay 'em on me.

Murs - Murs 3:16 The 9th Edition (2004)
Common - Like Water For Chocolate (2000), Be (2005)
Atmosphere - You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having Now (2005)
