Bryant and May

You could try the Bryant and May series by Christopher Fowler.
The first ( and in my humble opinion best) is Full Dark House.
They are murder mysteries set in London during WW2

I have some Patricia Cornwell novels but haven't really gotten around to them and I have Lee Child's The Killing Floor and I have read it. He is an Excellent writer.

I just finished The Prey, The Hunt, and The Kill. All three written by Allison Brennan and I thought they were very good.

Richard Montanari's books are quite good. I've read The Rosary Killers and The Skin Gods, and they were above-average thrillers.
