Well , half way though this and still the jury is out. I thought i should read it just to see what all the fuss was about.I have read all of Dan Browns work and quite a lot of conspiracy fact and fiction. What do you all think of this book...fact or fiction???

There is history there. What is absolute rubbish is how they don't so much form a conclusion from their historical research as jump into an answer without thinking of the plausibility. In short, it's conclusions lack evidence in the facts it plays with. Their theories are the equivalent of pulling a sheet from a table with a meal prepared, smashing everything, and believing the trick went well.
