Just read Thomas Perry's new book, "The Boyfriend". Quick moving, crime/suspense book. I enjoy this type of read, but I prefer some semblence of proofing. The author had one of the characters driving a "Toyota Maxima". The Maxima is a Nissan product, not Toyota. Careless with tiny facts, makes one wonder how closely any of the narrative describes real product, etc. In other words, his felon was using a .50 cal sniper rifle. Perry talked about the ability of the .50 call to take out targets at 1 mile distance, spoke of the 600 grain bullet, etc. Other than that, I really enjoyed the read.
Guess my recent couple readings of Clive Cussler whose fiction crime tales give readers factual history lessons has spoiled me.
