The article is quite old - I think this virus was identified and dealt with already.

The virus affected phpBB boards a few months back and not vBulletin boards although the developers of vBulletin were quick to issue a rapid series of updates from v3.03 to 3.07 in light of vulnerabilities in the PHP scripting language itself.
