What - to date - is your ALL time fave book

My all time favourite book has changed - for real this time.

You know when you've just finished a very good novel, that you get this feeling like : "That was the best book ever!!", but a month later you've already forgotten it.

Well, that's not the case with me, this time. I just finished Cryptonomicon, and it blew my proverbial socks off!!! Best book, ever!

Cheers, Martin

So impossible to pick even three above others. But three I cherish...

For Whom The Bell Tolls
The Bell Jar
Slaughterhouse-Five

My favorites include the following books:

The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac
Turtle Island by Gary Snyder
Ulysses by James Joyce
Der Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse
On The Road by Jack Kerouac
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (entire Series!) by Douglas Adams
All short stories by Charles Bukowski
Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut
Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
On the Beach by Nevil Shute

I know it's more than just 3, but i can't and won't limit it down to any number ;)

The Book of the New Sun - Gene Wolfe

Four volumes (now published in two collected volumes), one amazing work. Not just the story, but the language. And the meaning.

I really do hate this question, yet people continue to ask it. :p

I do not have one.

  • Harry Potter and the... by J.K. Rowling
  • The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer
