Which Author(s) do you emulate? Are most similar?

I bring this up because my real life writing group talked about this a lot in several of our past meetings.

We all have our favorite authors. We all also have authors we are most influenced by wrt our own writings, whether consciously or subconsciously.

Which author's style most resembles your own writing style?

My writing style in my short stories is most like Kazuo Ishiguro's. It came up in a writing group meeting. When they asked who some of my favorite authors were and I mentioned Ishiguro, among others, and several people said, "I knew it!" They could see it in my writings. However, I don't utilize the unreliable narrator device like Ishiguro.

Some others said my writings resemble Haruki Murakami's writing style, but I have to confess I haven't read any of Murakami's works. I hope to break out Norwegian Wood some day.
