Hi everybody,
I don't have much of a life or many friends since moving to a new town so hanging around forums like these is what I do after hours. Looking forward to future conversations with you all. Glad to be here. BTW my screen name is pronounced Dow Jones, it's a play on words. People seem to have trouble with it so I go ahead and explain it.

Thank you Libra. I've already enjoyed several of your posts. Been lurking about a week now.

I am glad you are enjoying them, lol.

So,where are you from, where did you move to and from where?:D oh,and what kind of books do you like reading?

I moved from Houston Texas to Midland Texas mainly because the woman I was marrying couldn't handle living in a big city. Mostly I've been reading what I call junk books. John Sandford, Michael Connelly, PJ Parrish etc but I have a serious interest in Modern Lit and some classics. Like anything about WWII. Decided to "upgrade" the quality of my reading. Just finished The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and it was the most wonderful book.

So what about you; what state do you live in and what do you read mostly?

I am in Montreal .Canada,I started with Historical Fiction but now I delve into anything and everything.

I finally finished The Ten Year Nap-Meg Wolitzer,it was like pulling teeth trying to finish it.

Just started Absence- Raymond Tallis, pretty good up to now.:)

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome aboard! Don't worry about the junk books. Heck, even the high-falutin' stuff like Saul Bellow is no better than your third rate junk book.

I'm a Nebraskan, moved around the state a time or two. I read a ton of non-fiction and due to this forum, more fiction the last four years.
