Help me select 2 books please

I really liked reading A Tale of Two Cities for my World Literature class. It was tedious at times-but no more than any of the other books, though. I was glad I read it once I finished it, which is more than I can say more most of the books I read for school. I also want to read Cold Mountain...

Do you buy, borrow or take out from the library?

I tend to buy 60% of my books and borrow the other 40%. It doesn't cost that much because I go to places like Half Price Books and all the other local used bookstores. I also receive many gift cards to Borders and Barnes & Noble for my birthday and Christmas because my family knows it's the...

    Songs to books

Well, this may sound a little corny but I've always wanted to hear the story behind 'Savin' Me' by Nickelback. I know there's one there!

    Hello ♥

Hi Britt! I've read the Harry Potter series and I think that it's fair to say that the 1st and 2nd books are the weakest in the series (except for the 6th in my opinion). So, I think you'll enjoy the rest of the series. We have a forum especially for Harry Potter and there's usually some pretty...

have you guys read an e-book

There are a couple ebooks that I've started reading because they were only available through the web-never published. But even though I enjoyed the stories, I hated reading off my computer screen. I'm willing to pay the extra money to get an actual book. You can't haul your computer on a bus and...

    Book Lights

I need a new one too-I bought one at Borders that lasted about a year before it broke. Well, it didn't work that well to begin with. I think I might look into the itty bitty book light since I read mostly mass market paperbacks. If I had enough money I would definitley go for the Wedge.

    Good Place to Read

Ah! I hadn't heard that way of saying it before. :D Yes, I do that as well. Too bad jammers are illegal here or else I would go out and buy one right now!

    Good Place to Read

What does this mean exactly? I also have a nice blue recliner that I read in often. We just got it and I've been breaking it in every day with marathon reading sessions. I also like reading on the porch swing outside and on my bed. As for outside the home, coffee shops can't be beat. Except...

    Goosebumps

Haha! I read those as a kid as well. It was the 'cool' thing to read because our teacher didn't like them. (Not related to topic but I think it's cool--she spent our recesses reading the Animorphs novels). I can't remember any of the titles but I think Curse of Camp Cold Lake freaked me out...

    Philip Pullman: His Dark Materials

Well, I picked up Lyra's Oxford at a garage sale for $1 and I'm VERY happy that I didn't spend any more on it. It was boring, made no sense, and was just generally bad. It's hard for me to say this because I'm a diehard fan of the trilogy. I've heard Lyra's Oxford is just leading into this...
