    Most Disappointing Authors?

I know so many people like him, so let me apologize now. These are my opinions only! Robert Jordan. Everyone RAVED about the Wheel of Time books. Said they were some of the best fantasy books out there and if I loved the Sword of Truth ones (which I did), I'd love WoT. So I checked...

    The best so far?

Any Place I Hang My Hat by Susan Isaacs. I loved this novel! I'd never heard of it or her, but it looked kind of interesting and it turned out to be so well written with an extremely touching story. I found myself really feeling for the main character when she messed things up and cheering...

What do you use as a bookmark?

Photographs, birthday cards, regular 3x5 card stock, the little due date slip the library sticks in there, heck, even a check stub right now. If it's flat and within reach, I use it!

    Libraries

I very rarely buy my own books unless I see something at Half-Price or it's an art instruction book. I use the library all the time. I think if I ever reread, which I don't, I might be more inclined to buy my own. But for now, my money's better spent on other things that I won't just go...

    The Seven Plots

*thinks of her original stories* Yep...my main ones are overcoming the monster, the quest, and tragedy. That's really interesting! Can you tell us more about this book? Sounds like one I'd be interested in checking out!

    historical fiction anyone?

I really loved "The Queen's Fool" by Philippa Gregory. Also, a friend of mine absolutely loved Gillian Bradshaw and she'd always be recommending her books to me. I read a few of them and they are quite well written! That's who I need to look for, in fact, next time I go to the library!

    Are you offended - really????

Hey everyone! I personally haven't been offended on this forum and I'm usually the one who stands alone on most sides of the issues. However, because I am hormonal (gotta love being pregnant!), I know that I can get crabby or that my mood as a result of the day (work has sucked lately!) can...

    new age music anyone?

I've never heard of them, but I'm certainly interested in checking them out. I think the closest I've ever gotten to hearing New Age type music would have been Enya or Yanni or Cirque du Soleil or something. Sounds interesting!

    Avater

I think rainbows are pretty! ^_^ I knew about the homosexual thing, but I don't think that's automatically the first thing people assume when they see a rainbow. Perhaps it depends on the context? Like a bumper sticker...I'd be more inclined to associate it that way. But if it's an avatar...

    What's in a name?

What caught my attention many years ago was a book called "The Eight" by Katherine Neville. It seemed an odd title because you normally don't have a number in a noun spot. Plus, there was a big ol' infinity sign on the cover, so between the cover and the title, I was intrigued! That's the...

    Currently Reading

I'm currently reading "Any Place I Hang My Hat" by Susan Isaacs and I'm really enjoying it! It's about a young woman who's writing an article on a Democrat Presidential candidate when a college aged young man bursts in on the party and insists that he's the man's son. As she starts helping the...
