I totally agree. The pace of Lisey's Story got to me in the beginning, but the story itself latched on. The Stand is one of my all time favorites. Just a fantastic read.
I was prepared to be let down by Lisey's Story, but I liked it. I know some of his newer works do indeed suck--THe Cell comes to mind--but now and again he still has what it takes. For me anyway.
Has anyone read King's son's book Heart Shaped Box? He goes by the name Joe Hill. I have yet to purchase it, but plan to. Interested to know what others think of the story.
Hmm, it's not so much that books and the outdoors are contradictory, but activity and books. Kinda hard (for me anyway!) to hike and read, swim and read, etc. But a nice combination is a lounge chair and a book :)
