I could not finish Wicked by Maguire. Soooooo boring!!! I prefer fantasy genre books and since reading Tales From Mos Eisley Cantina where you find out the stories of the other people in the bar in Star Wars: A New Hope, I thought that Maguire's books, where he tells the story of the other...
I love to read books in series. I love that you get to know the characters even better, I love the inside jokes as you get further into the series and I love getting find out what happens to the characters after the story we first meet them in. I enjoy fantasy novels, and it seems like almost...
This book is hard to place, it's a comedy horror fantasy book. lol I really liked it. Fair warning to anyone who has not read it, it has a lot of cussing; but it is very funny. I was wondering if anyone else had read it and what your opinion was.
Can't really answer questions about Salvatore but I can recomment Anne McCaffrey. Also I love Robert Asprin's novels, there are 2 series I have read by him: the Myth series and the Phule series. The Myth series is very fantasy and the Phule series is military sci fi. They Myth series is my...
I despise politics and as a result found Wicked rather boring. I actually put the book down and stopped reading about half way through and that is a big deal for me. In fact, I can't think of one other book offhand that I ever put down before and stopped reading entirely. I liked confessions...
I personally am a huge Anne McCaffrey fan. Her Pern series (which is quite large) is partly about Dragons, so be forewarned, but they are not magical or mystical, they are engineered. Her Crystal Singer trilogy is free of mythical creatures, and is mostly humans though humans have traveled to...
I like to read fantasy and it seems like whenever I pick up a book it is in series. lol
The Star Wars series of books (but only after Return of the Jedi)
Anne McCaffrey - Dragons of Pern series (especially the Harper Hall Trilogy), Crystal Singer trilogy, and The Rowan series
Robert Aspirin -...
Questions for you.
Was the detective an adult or kid? Was there a sidekick or group the detective solved with? Do you remember if it was british, american, or other nationality characters?
Updated P.S. 5-10-06 I got to thinking and I don't know if i'm getting this confused with another story or not but... I think the daughter that most of the story is about was adopted by the healer. I think she was abandoned and that is how the healer wound up with a child.
So many! At the very top of the list is Anne McCAffrey, also love Robert Aspirin's Myth series. Barbara Michael's mystery/suspense/supernatural books are great. I'm at work and can't think of others at the moment, but I have 2 full bookcases and then a stack by the bed and a couple stacks on...
If you like stories including dragons, the Dragonriders of Pern is a series of many many books written by Anne McCaffrey. I started the Series with the Harper Hall Trilogy and fell in love with the world of Pern and with the writing of Anne McCaffrey. She writes in a way that makes you believe...
I'm glad you discovered your books! You might try reading "The Secret Circle" by LJ Smith. I still like to read her books. Even though I'm an "adult" now. lol I may have to get older, but I don't have to grow up!! I like the vampire diaries by LJ Smith as well...
