    genres you like to read

I will second this recommendation or 3rd or 4th it if that's the case. I will admit that I skipped a few parts that were just too dry for me (about people and not about the science) but the book was absolutely fascinating. I have always been mystified by the depths of the ocean and have little...

    What books have you hated?

Lord of the Flies I just read it two years ago or so. I had never needed to read it for school and thought I would see what the hubbub was about. It is a very short book, some 185 pages if I remember correctly but it was the slowest-going page turner I have ever come across. I literally...

Have you ever met one of your favourite authors?

I read primarily modern fiction so my favorite authors pretty much still do the book tour promo deal. I have gotten to meat a few of them this way and it is pretty interesting. And I get the books I have collected autographed.

    Jon Krakauer

    Recommendations for Historical Type Thrillers?

I just finished Jeffery Deaver's Garden of Beasts this morning. I apologize for not having written my review for it yet, so I can't articulate much, but I liked it. He is, over the past few years, my favorite author. edit: I guess I could tell you that it is about Nazi Germany. Not nearly as...

    genres you like to read

I went two years where I was reading mystery/suspense exclusively at nearly a book per week pace. ...and I got tired of it. To pick myself back up off the ground I have tried branching into other areas and found myself most at home in sci-fi/fantasy thanks to George R. R. Martin's A...

    Pictures of your book collection

Thanks. It's a nice start anyway, but I'm still young. Plenty of time to amass my collection. All I need now is a raise...

Book, reading, literature quote of the day-from you

Here are a few off my site. Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it. - PJ O'Rourke The reason why so few good books are written is that so few people who can write know anything. - Walter Bagehot All good books have one thing in common - they are...

    Favorite new authors

I used to be like you. It's all downhill from here. You may not know it yet, but she has you wrapped around her little literary finger. Read on, anonymous internet friend; enjoy the series.

Do you skim or read every word?

Every word. I know it slows me down and I'm already a slow reader as it is, but the author took the time to write each word and they were chosen for a reason (in theory) and I feel each should be honored.

    Pictures of your book collection

http://www.privatjokr.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=10&pos=0 That's most of 'em. The "collection" anyway. Most are 1st/1st, many are signed. Everyone has their vices, right?
