BUST magazine. sigh. its great. love it! http://bust.com/
here's the site if any of you want to check it out. it has occasianal 20's - 50's porn though. tasteful porn i assure you. Bust is a great feminist website that isn't a man killer. though occasional bitter remarks are past it is...
gosh your right. i can't imagine growing up not reading. I never was a childrens book fan as a kid. (my school had a horrible library) instead I jumped into hard reads and had to look up everyother word. hehe.
I'll tempt the boy with some of those suggestions. thanky thanky
Its quite complicated. i try to hold the book (if its paperback) with my legs and knit with my hands. well i am still limber so i try and stretch up to my face as close as i can. it mostly doesn't work but if its a good day.... well.
the books I read are... uhm. i'll just list a couple i...
in response to that: in my class, we need to sell a product relating to the book using propaganda. well slaughterhouse five never (in my mind) used blatent propaganda. so instead i will have a presentation selling a doll in full out army wear protesting slaughterhouse five (i never realized how...
i'll try. heh i wish that the schools wouldn't limit a students reading to a list (AR list). personally i think the AR program is killing children's passion for reading. they wont read for reading great stories... they'll read for pizza parties and those prizes. sigh i hated those AR books in...
well, johnathan is still young and passionate about his works. if they portray the story incorrectly than i'm pretty sure he would protest. i love that he's so young! we can see his works develop and change ohh but i don't know if he can top what he already has.
have fun finishing the book...
I'm new... well i have a couple threads and posts up already though... sorry! i didn't see this section... uhm yeah. This is so far a great great forum. book discussions are actually held!!! :)
well letsee. i should post something about me huh? I like sewing knitting reading and tennis. at...
... maybe they used elijah for his great great great great grandfather, (the one with the dead arm that turns girls on) he had a wedding scene.. so that might be a possibility. I imagined his grandfather and great great great whatevers to be like him. ah, i've been imagining the movie in my head...
oh gosh, I had this pretty website found but I guess they closed it down. it had barely any info but it was well made. If you google elijah wood or "everything is illuminated movie" you should get some tiny tidbit. afraid its going to be a hard to find movie. elijah is going to be johnathan. i...
my cousin is 10 and just got a C in reading. he's a smart boy, he can read fairly quickly but he just can't "get into" a book. poor guy. I don't think there are many children's books made for guys. He's into video games, action type stuff, and i believe he is developing a very very cynical sense...
:) A new author wrote his first novel and now there is going to be a low budget movie off of it. its going to star elijah wood. i'm so happy. i don't know if people have read Everything is illuminated (i think it was one of newyorks bestsellers [but that doesn't say much])
It is about a...
yes i agree, my class (9th grade) is reading rand and a lot of the students are in love with this woman. I believe that they agree and find her philosophy possible because they are mainly middle class to rich kids. They believe that it is okay to fend for themselves while others are suffering...
yes I agree, practically every religion, belief, etc contradicts itself at a point. but I find it amazingly annoying when Ayn Rand says that no man should force their beliefs on another, yet in every single book there is an advertisement for objectivism. I know she's dead and the ads probably...
