    Well hello there

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum! Who are some of your favorite authors?

I am Officially Changing my Name (maybe):

I don't think there's anything wrong with Carlos Rios! But if you decide to change it, Carl Rivers would be my top choice.

Books for a Polish guy :)

Just curious, what do you mean by 'his books have a lot of parts'? I haven't read Clancy. With the exception of Sherlock Holmes, I don't usually read detective stories, so don't have a lot to recommend. But you might enjoy some John Grisham? I liked 'The Firm' (his first novel), among...

    Any other Christians here?

About 'The Shack'...honestly, in my opinion it was not well-written, and I have hard time getting past that. I think that Christian fiction should be held to the same standard as regular fiction, and I feel that a good book should grab you on the first page and hold your interest throughout...

Thank you all for the welcome! :) I'm looking forward to getting to know you - I love reading and talking about books. Do you guys have any recommendations? Justin, my fellow Ohioan, do you ever read 'local' authors? Libri Vermis, I love your avatar!

Books for a Polish guy :)

Hi Esseti, I think you will like '1984' - it's one of my favorite novels. I always recommend almost anything by Jodi Picoult - she is a fabulous writer, and her stories are very realistic and well crafted. I've read all of her novels, and from your description, I would recommend 'Nineteen...

What is stressing you out as of late?

Justin, I relate - I'm happy for my friend, too, because she really wants to live in Seattle, and I'm hoping she'll be so happy there. But I'm also going to miss her a lot. How's your mom holding up so far?

Where are you? (in the book you are reading) - please read 1st post

I'm seven years old, I've been in an accident at the circus, my parents are separated, and as I'm lying in bed listening to my mother crying in her room a person in a long white nightgown appears and talks to me.

What is stressing you out as of late?

Justin, it must be! And what is wrong with Ohio, anyway? I like it here. ;) My best friend is moving to Seattle. Sorry to hear about your brother, San Diego is far as well, and it's always tough when someone we're close to moves away.

    Any other Christians here?

Hi everyone, thanks for all the replies! :) Wikipedia defines Christian fiction as: "any novel that expounds and illustrates a Christian world view in its plot, its characters, or both, or which deals with Christian themes in a positive way." Some mainstream novels fit that definition, and...
