I absolutely loved Still Life with Woodpecker but was somewhat indifferent to Half-Asleep in Frog Pajamas . I keep meaning to give him a third try in a rubber match kinda way but other books keep getting in the way. Any suggestions for a third foray into his world?

I have finished it. Excellent Story.
As good as if not better than Goblet.
I need time to fully digest it but Rowling has done a great job and it was worth the wait.

I doubt they are worth much as they are mass market paperbacks which sold a ton of copies. I think they would have to be rarer in order for them to have value. Having said that, stranger things have happened on eBay that a common paperback selling for a high price.

I will post my thoughts.
I read a lot of Fantasy and I think this is one of the best that is currently being written. It has a lot to do with court intrigue and wars between kingdoms and families, less to do with some of the more fantastical elements. The fact that it is very different from...
Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan
Ok, I am reading Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy. On the cover it says, "A Jack Ryan Novel".
Am I alone in expecting this to actually be a Jack Ryan Novel. I am not too mad as this is a very good book, but I am trying to read the books in the series, not just Clancy's...
K=Koko by Peter Straub.
Friends from the Vietnam War hunt down an old army mate they think may be a serial killer. Very neat story and I can't say enough about Straub's style.
Book five of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King will be published in Hardcover on Nov. 4 2003. Sometime in June 2003 there will be Hardcover re-issues of the previous 4 installments in this series.
Mr. King has also finished the last two volumes in this series and they will be released...
by "Lynch Pin" I mean that King is actively pulling his entire Universe into this one idea. There are rumors that the Priest from 'Salem's Lot will have some sort of part to play. Off the top of my head, here are some of the works that are tied it:
The Eyes of the Dragon.
Insomnia
Hearts...
I really liked The Gunslinger. Roland, IMO, is a fascinating character that continues to grow the more that you read about him. The whole context of the Dark Tower is pretty cool. I cannot wait until the fall for the new one.
What are your opinions of the concept of the Dark Tower...
I read this book years ago and I remember being very much impressed with the telling of the story more so than that actual story. Having said that, I have all of her other books and find them to be very good on the whole.
Mike
I will do this without spoilers.
I used to LOVE the series. Now, I kinda tolerate it but still read every one of the books.
I think that CoT is very similiar to the last 2 books. No major plot movement. I wish he would at least START to wrap it up.
At this point, I am not sure...
Sorry to burst your bubble but the april release is a pipe dream. Check out the George R.R. Martin Homepage
I am looking forward to this release as well.

I have a shelf of books that I have not read. Usually there are lots and lots to choose from. Currently there are 47. This gives me a great variety to pick from. I buy used books from half.com a whole series at a time, that way I don't have to wait to buy the next one. I buy standalones at...
Just finished "Crossroads of Twilight". What an utter disappoingment. So much for wrapping up storylines. Now I am reading "Red" by Jack Ketchum. Standard horror stuff. I have The Lovely Bones on my to read shelf so based on everyone in here loving it, I just make bump that up to my "Next"...
