Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata: Death Note

oh. Well, he's nothing like a clown either. He doesn't chase anyone scaring them, he just laughs at humans in general and eats apples.

Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata: Death Note

Light(the main character on the cover) is nothing like an evil clown. In fact, I'm sure he hates clowns. His personality is a lot like Artemis Fowl's. Actually there are quite a lot of similarities between the series. Plus, don't judge a book by it's cover..even if the book is basically...

How to be Popular: Meg Cabot(4/5) And Only to Deceive: Tasha Alexander(3/5 for historical inaccuracies) Star Wars On Trial: Mathew Woodring Stover + David Brin (5/5 + very amusing) Germinal: Emile Zola (3/5 for being rather dull. Or maybe it's because our history teacher shoved it down our...

Margaret Mitchell: Gone With The Wind

collecting GWTW items? What kinds of items? I just read the book last year, when I was 14, but I definately want to reread it, even now, because I've changed so much since that time, mostly thanks to my English teacher. He's the ony good english teacher I've had and taught me to really...

Margaret Mitchell: Gone With The Wind

I can't believe there isn't a thread about this book anywhere here! This is one of my favorite novels(it's funny that two of my fave nobels happen to be over 1000 pages long). I recently rewatched the movie and now want to reread the book. I'll also be reading the sequel, Scarlett, which I've...

Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata: Death Note

This is a series of 12 books(of which 9 have been released in the US) which is the only manga i've read. Now that says something-I generally don't read manga, but I devoured this series, and strongly recommend it to anyone who loves manga(and anyone who doesn't). I't about a teen named Light...

    Steve Berry

i got his book the amber room out of the library but now i'm wondering if im going to like it. I liked the da vinci code and all those things, but would I like this? Is it good, first of all? Does it contain lots of random tidbits of information while having a good plot? etc etc..

    Codebreaker

This is a new book that's just come out about the history of codebreaking all the way up to really modern codebreaking, and it contains some challenges in the back. I'm still trying to solve the 4th one. This book explained everything well, but I think it may have omitted some historical...

    Star Wars On Trial

yeah, unfortunately the forums can't really be used to discuss the book. but the book, while containing jokes, and being amusing, is pretty serious. It discusses wether women in star wars are portrayed as weak, if the politics of star wars are elitist, if star wars has driven real sci fi and...

    Star Wars On Trial

I know that many readers on this forum probably dislike star wars, consider the novels a waste of shelf space, etc... however, this book adresses pretty much all the issues people have with the star wars novels and movies. It's a very interesting read. Has anyone else read it? I'm a huge star...

Bad writing in a good book

well, i've read a book with extremely well developed characters and a good plot, but the author would repeat the characer's name 3 times in a paragraph: luke did this. luke did that. then luke...what happened to personal pronouns?
