I just finished this book a couple of days ago. I LOVED it. It is hard to describe, so I'm just going to say, check it out. The author (Patrick Rothfuss) has a website (and a blog, which is quite entertaining): http://www.patrickrothfuss.com/
So I posted my top 10 on here 4 years ago exactly. I figured it was time for a dramatic update.

The Bartimaeus Trilogy's books are The Amulet of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye, and Ptolemy's Gate.
And, P.S., His Dark Materials is the trilogy that starts with The Golden Compass. :)
*side note* Check out Maguire's book What The Dickens. It's a young adult (possibly younger) book, but is absolutely darling. It's about a toothfairy (not as lame as it sounds) who is named What the Dickens. Lovely book.
I recently bought this book off Amazon because the summary sounded interesting and it had received some great reviews. I was BLOWN AWAY by this book. It's inspired by the Yeats poem, and it's basically about a changeling, and is told from the perspectives of the changeling, and the child that...
The first Gregory Maguire book I read was Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, which isn't as dark as Wicked, but I do enjoy Maguire's books. I absolutely LOVED Wicked. The story is fantastic. I always wondered what the other side of the story was, and Elphaba is such a complex character. I...
So far there are three books in this series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The premise of the books is the story of Peter Pan, and how he became the Peter Pan we know and love (it is sponsored/published by Disney, so it's more focused on that story rather than Barrie's). They are darling...
Some of her books are a mix of fantasy and sci-fi, but she's one of the best authors I've ever read.
Samaria Series
-Archangel
-Jovah's Angel
-The Alleluia Files
-Angelica
-Angel Seeker
Twelve Houses Series
-Mystic and Rider
-The Thirteenth House
-Dark Moon Defender
-Reader and...
She's written some fantastic stuff. The Sevenwaters Trilogy is great for ANYONE. I read the first book of that (Daughter of the Forest) and was just amazed at the quality and strength of the characters and storylines. She's also written two books in Saga of the Light Isles and a three books...
I am definitely enjoying her new Darkglass Mountain series (I think that's what it's called). So far I've like most of her books, but probably the Troy Game series best.
I absolutely LOVE his books. Thursday is such a great character, and he has so many little tiny jokes and plays on words all throughout his books. They are FUN to read, and so clever.
Card has rarely disappointed me. The only book I couldn't seem to get into was Enchantment. I recently read Magic Street, and enjoyed it. But any of the Ender books are great.
He is a fantastic writer. I mentioned this over on the Neil Gaiman thread, but if you like Terry Pratchett, you should DEFINITELY check out Good Omens (it's written by both of them).
Okay, I've read a LOT more Neil Gaiman stuff since I last posted on here. I LOVE HIM. But my favorite book of his so far has been Good Omens, which he wrote with Terry Pratchett (another favorite). I HIGHLY recommend it.
I also loved the movie Mirrormask, which I believe he wrote the...
Actually, I just recently read her Temeraire series, and I liked it quite a bit. I'm sure I would have liked it more if I was into Napoleonic era warfare, but I really enjoyed the relationships between dragon and rider, and how well she developed all the characters. I also enjoyed how each of...
