My sister she did not start to talk until the age of 4. Because my mother never thought we would understand anything. Nor knowing this is how babies learn to speak.

When they reach the age of 14 and 16 then you started to REALLY enjoy them, because they will talk back at you. But their talents will show at the age.

When I was a kid whatever I wrote. My Mother always said "You are brilliant." That kind of inspire you, too. All writers think they are born genius. :D
"Have got" and "Have gotten" are both correct usage. It is a forced of habit.
It also depends on what era you live in. In ancient Britain might have more accurate English.
Lecturing others is not really proper. If I may say so. :D
If you have to commute two hours a day driving on the road, talking books are exellent choices.
Trust me, I learned many languages this way.
