My cats love to lay on my chest when I'm reading. The only do it when I'm reading, and the make sure they get right in the way so I can't see the pages. It's really cute, but annoying at the same time.
to help your friend, there's also a book out with the screenplay from the movie. It's called Brokeback Mountain: Story to Screenplay. It's got the story, the screenplay and 3 essays about making the story into a film...
:D
So what books are supposed to be released this year that you just can't wait to get your hands on?
For me I'm very excited about a few already.
Francesca Lia Block has a new book called Ruby coming out in July.
Fanne Flagg has a new book called Can't Wait to Get to Heaven coming...
it was a long day, and customers seemed to be a little stupider than they usually are, but I got to have dinner with my best friend so it all evened out in the end.
I read Handmaid's Tale and didn't really care for the ending, but totally loved the book.
Has anyone else read The Penelopaid? She takes the Odyssey and retells the story from Penelope's point of view, being stuck at home waiting for her husband. The 12 maids act as a Greek Chorus and there's...
Recently, when I was picking up mythology books I came across this one and was flipping through it. I got to the story of the flood and Pandora's box and the picture was so familiar. This was one of the first books that I ever read about mythology and had really gotten me interested in it. I...
I read this as part of my book club at work. It was a really quick read. I enjoyed it for what it was, a short little story. I didn't get why people were always so, "OMG this book changed my life, I have to buy a copy for everyone I know"
I'm pretty sure no one else has read it. So I'm probably posting in vain.
I really enjoyed this one. It's a little different from the rest of Henry Bellamann's stuff.
This one actually reminded me a lot of Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca, if Rebecca had taken place in Louisianna.
Like...
in no order
Postcards from No Man's Land - Aidan Chambers
Little Children - Tom Perotta
All American Boy - William J Mann
I think that's about it, but I *hated* Little Children.
i have bookshelves full of TBR read stuff. After I finished with my Henry Bellamann books I want to read Fahrenheit 451
I also want to read The Thorn Birds
The Company She Keeps by Mary McCarthy
and some Dave Sedaris.
That's the really short list.
I mentioned to a coworker that I had read 82 books last year. She and another coworker thought it was strange that I kept a list of all the books I read, and knew exactly how many I read in a year.
I've kept lists for the past 3 years.
Does anyone else to this?
