    favorite song?

I started throwing away all the CD jewel cases eight years ago and now keep all discs in two very large zippered cases in loose alphabetic order. I can stow them under the bed and out of sight. Then I use a couple of 25 disc storage cases for the car and home stereo and 'rotate' CD's from the...

Do you play a musical instrument?

I never could jazz improvise much either, mostly on an extremely simple level and it was more blues piano anyway. But then I didn't try very hard to improve, I just keep going back to playing the master composers I love so much. I love the sound and action of the piano and will always play. I...

Passion, charm, suspense - and magic...

Yours is the second extraordinarily pleased review I've read and now have decided to get it ordered from Amazon. As a South Carolinian, I really must read a magical story like this one set in NC. Thanks for heads up.

Does inaccurate historical facts affect your enjoyment of historical fiction?

Clearly 'rearranged' timelines for actual historical figures and events bother me without a reference in the author's notes regarding a good reason why history just got moved around a bit. I'd rather not read about invented siblings or children when I know an historical figure didn't have them...

    your favorite booze?

y, Stewart? y pick on me? :( I know it's Glayva, but I must claim tax return preparation season fatigue for my lack of attention to such an important detail .... be hard to find asking for the wrong stuff! Actually, I've such a fried brain at this point (the US tax season ends April 15th -...

What to do with these books?

You should keep A Time to Kill and Road to Gandolfo. My husband has urged me repeatedly (ok, nagged and nagged at me :) ) to read Gandolfo. He claims it is hysterically funny. I do plan to pull it out of the TBR Warehouse someday and read it. I'm sure he's right. I also like Cornwell and...

Books you've read before you had any knowlege of an upcoming movie based on the book.

At this moment it would be The Ruins for me - and to judge from the trailers, it appears some changes have been made. I really look forward to seeing it and was surprised to learn of the production less than half a year after reading it. I once climbed to the top of Tulum and that's another...

    your favorite booze?

Might that be Glava - a seriously tasty whiskey liqueur? I rarely drink whiskey, but brought some back from a visit to husband's family in Canada and have been searching the Carolinas for it ever since. Haven't found it yet - so summer trip to Ontario for sure!

    Mark Twain

Samuel Clemens was absolutely a supreme satirist and storyteller. His wit is my favorite literary kind! And Following the Equator has a prized place on my bookshelf. The bar has certainly been set!

    Things to see in Britain?

I would head for Land's End in Cornwall, try for a view of Tintagel and roam around Wales a good bit. Devon has some pretty coastline. East Anglia probably does too. Maybe search out some Roman ruins here and there?

Welcome! Please forgive as I'm working way too much lately, but I saw HeraSee and thought 'HeraDo'. :o But I love Greek myth names, yours is quite clever and I applaud you. I see you love alliteration as well. Please enjoy the forum~

    just a sound idea

Yes, a neon tetra is a small fish with bright bars of blue/red color. I once bought a dozen and put them in my apartment mate's aquarium so I'd have a school of them. They all died though. Maybe Nemo ate them! Check out the pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/leino/163794422/

    I'm the most reacted guy

Thanks! That does answer my previous question about differentiating between 'Persians' and 'Iranians'. Persian is pre-1979 and Iranian is post-1979 then? And did backgammon originate in Persia - greatest game I've ever played, by the way.
