Older Films To Be Re-viewed

The party by blake Edwarts
all Pink panters exepct the last with steve Martin!

uh, yeah, yeah Martin's Inspector Clouseau was like Sherlock holmes smoking a cigarrette, I know. Now pipe down! Your opinions are uh second handed.

hope I didn't spoil the party

Some great ones there. I'm a big fan of Bogart films, so Key Largo, Maltese Falcon and Casablanca are regularly brought out for a re-watch. I'm also a big Richard Burton fan, so Wild Geese and Where Eagles Dare are boyhood favourites. Dr Strangelove, Spartacus, Get Carter (original), The Italian Job (original again), Zulu (bit of a Michael Caine fan too!) all get viewed regularly too.

I liked Kelly's hero, specialy Donald Sutherland caractere in it.
Ground hog Day is also one of my favorite(the kidnapping of the hog!)
Barry Lindon(kubrick),the Duellist,(Ridley Scott)

hhmmm.....
Scarface
Shawshank Redemption
(I loved "Whatever happened to Baby Jane" with Bette Davis and Joan Crawford) These women at their time were not only beautiful but also had talent.
The Notebook (not old but good)
so many to think of......

OK, OK I know I have listed LOTS AND LOTS of movies ... but each one is very special and most are classics. I had not realized just how many 100s and 100s of films of this quality are out there. How fortunate for us we can see them on disks. I must be older than many or all of you because I did see all of these films on their first run in the US.
If you are adventurous I recommend any or all of the films on my 3 lists.
ENJOY

Great thread GERBAM,
One movie sticks out for me on your list. Laura, the noir(ish) classic from 1945 with the irresistable Gene Tierney starring in the title role.

Gene - who has been unfairly labelled the most beautiful overbite in Hollywood history - was a wonderful actress, beautiful indeed to behold, and most interestingly paid for living the high life (affairs with a young J.F. Kennedy and playboy Ali Khan) with a bout in an insane asylum in the 50s which effectively ended her acting career.

Watch out for these other Gene classics: The Razor's Edge, Leave Her To Heaven, Son of Fury, Tobacco Road, and The Ghost & Mrs Muir.

Bart.

Maybe these were already mentioned, maybe not. Not all of them all too old but oldish anyway.

Lawrence of Arabia
Murder By Death (probably my favorite comedy of all time)
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the BombOnce Upon A Time in the West (for that matter every movie by Sergio Leone)
At Close Range
Play Misty For Me
Manhunter
Shout at the Devil
F.I.S.T
Matewan
The Molly Maguires
Little Big Man

Play Misty for Me - the original Fatal Attraction! That's a brilliant film, as are several others on your list there :)

Movies And Films To Enjoy Again
