    Hardback or paperback?

Hard back for sure. I remove the dust jacket and put on a tight, brown paper cover until I finish reading it, This goves me a place to write notes, too. Then I replace the jacket. With paperbacks , I have to break it back in order to read near the binding; now it is not an"excellent" collectable...

What do you use as a bookmark?

book marks-notes Third man girl, Thank you for your comments. As I read, many thoughts come to me stimulated by what the author is projecting; special concepts, my contrary opinions, special word usage, or parts that I wish to reconsider. I liked to come away from a book with more than just a...

What do you use as a bookmark?

Third man girl, how do you control all of the note pad slips or is it a bound unit? I leave the bookmark with the book, if I own the book. I then make entries into a subject index.

Finding stock for a rare book store

Forty six, I read 'Beyond Zero Sum Game". The author was honest about his operation; he laid it all out. I give him credit for that. My analysis:...He became a professional consultant to libraries where they can maximize their revenue. That is OK; as long as the patrons of the library book...

What do you use as a bookmark?

Third man girl 3rd man, we start out using some level of a recognized book mark; then strange and creative things happen for some reason. What do you think is the reason? I recommend that commercial producers of bookmarks produce a bookmark upon which we can write notes.

    Selling used books

Nelka, I did join "Book Crossing". I understand the donating of books but don't yet see the buying & selling. I will do a review. It will be fun to mail a book to another part of the country and have it placed out for picking up and thereafter receive a response. ---Walter---

    I just arrived

Tim & others, I am trying to promote the usage of the word 'ephemera'. Actually, there is an ephemera society that has shows that sell all matter of ephemera. To collectors of all sorts of collectibles, ephemera has a broader meaning" All things surrounding a given item". The emphasis on...

Tim , great that you are becoming interested in Robinson Crusoe! Anything that I can answer, just buzz me. The book series is just beautiful. Do you collect other leather bindings? Book Barns

Ashlea, you really pegged him. I'd love to talk to several people that have perused the shops and get their overviews of the contents. I wonder how one could find such people; maybe some Dallas book clubs? I wonder where all of his books come from; perhaps people just drive up with a car full or...
