Weirdly enough I find myself feeling a bit like you for the opposite reasons. I usually am against war and I am doing voluntary social work with asylum seekers from Afghanistan. I just keep hearing what the taliban did to everybody. Never got a single case of people loosing family or friends...
Hmm we have some really old poetry books in the house (about a hundred years old) and I feel a certain reverence when taking them out. On the other hand, I had the thought that sometimes burning books might be a good idea just to prevent them from becoming toilet paper. That just wouldn't seem...
*head implodes*
nyargh! Alright... I got as far as the bit about penises and other similar things but you lost me when you reached the point with all the politics in it. I blame not having slept properly in days... Queen's English hmm? Like "We are not amused"?...
*scratches head*
Hmm so how...
Funny thing you guys picked up that point of all things. Jehovas Witnesses always seem to try their best to smile at everybody. Nice people really but hard to understand with all their strange ideas and doctrine.
I hope you enjoyed reading :)
Alice sighed and poured herself another glass of brandy. She looked through the window of her 79th floor apartment cell and saw little more than twilight through the smog that rose from the network of hyperlanes below. Ironic how it had gotten worse when everybody started burning hydrogen... all...
Damn, makes me wish I had come up with the idea myself and made a fortune. I probably have enough gay friends to do the research for it. Oh well, somebody else made good money with American sexual hypocrisy. Always good to open a new niche.
Hmm second read and I did the same as with the other piece - trying to ride the flow of emotions in it. It leaves a huge question mark in my head. Maybe I will come back to it again later to find out more. Makes me wonder if those wide-open ends are part of your particular style and follow...
The new structure has in my opinion boosted the overall ambience and quality dramatically. This time (even though it being the 4th time in total might be a factor) I could understand it without problems. If you made other changes, those were probably part of the boost as well, good work.
I am...
A vanity press that lies about its status as such and on top of that keeps writers from going to real publishers with their books afterwards. Sounds like the worst case scenario. I hope this defamation campaign is succesful enough to save most victims that might otherwise have gotten trapped as...
If you want to self-publish printed books my recommendation is Lyx, a word processor that produces PDF files in professional publisher quality. It is open source and based on the language "Latex" (pronounced "Latech") that is often used in printing. It can export to HTML as well, which is a good...
I'm sorry but the punchline of this one eluded me. George Bush as a clown, sure thing, but after that it got hazy in my opinion. What's the point you are trying to make?
*honestly interested* :)
Short and to the point. Good point even though it must have been made by 10% of the passably sane population of earth, so it's old news. Still good.
Leaving that line out is important, because it's so much stronger if the reader forms it in his/her own head instead. Which everybody except for...
I think I will have to return to this piece a few times to exhaust all the punchlines. Probably the most politically incorrect and insane piece I have seen in ages. Just the thing I like to read. Congratulations on that, it's really anything but part of the common literary mass.
I reread it and intentionally ignored all the bits of information. Instead I just let the flow of emotions and colors sweep me along this time. It felt more like one piece now and I guess my mistake was looking for deeper meaning when it was a detailed description of a scene rather than...
If you would post things like that as paid amazon links on a special page you could make good money off of that for this site. I'd totally click my way to the book through there because it won't cost me anything extra :)
