Mark Twain: Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn

It was an ok book. The thing I found most annoying was the dialogue. It's written how it sounds instead of the way it's spelled. That's one of my pet peeves when reading.

    Barbara Kingsolver: The Poisonwood Bible

I loved her book The Bean Trees, but didn't care for Poisonwood as much. Quite a different tone to it.

Book suggestions similar to Serpent War saga, Riftwar Legacy etc by Raymond E. Feist

Hi dreamcatcher :) You might like George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. The first book is A Game of Thrones.

    Stephen King: Dark Tower Series

I'm not sure I would want to live there. At least not in the mutated areas. ;)

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

The first time I read it I had a lot of fun reading it. I was in the mood for a fast paced page turner and that's what I got. The second time I read it was for a book club discussion two years later, and it wasn't as good as a read. Much of the book's appeal is the cliffhanger after each chapter.

    Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist

Why should I? You already said you didn't like it, which is fine. We all have different reading tastes. :)

Alexander McCall Smith: The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency

I've only read the first one. I thought it was ok. A pleasant way to spend an afternoon. :)

    Are they milking us?

I don't mind a long series. I do quit reading though if the quality starts goin downhill, then you know it's just a moneymaker and they could care less what they are writing about.

    John Crowley: Little Big

It's only 500 pages. For me that is the average amount of pages in the kind of books I read.

Pearl S. Buck: The Good Earth

I really enjoyed reading this book. It wasn't a long book, but it still had the epic feel to it.

Karen Joy Fowler: Jane Austen Book Club

I didn't care for this book. The characters just didn't appeal to me for some reason.

Stephen King, Peter Straub: The Talisman

The Talisman is an excellent dark fantasy book. I didn't care for it's sequel The Black House.

    Karen Marie Moning

I'm sorry, I've only read one book by her, The Spell of the Highlander. I didn't care for the numerous sex scenes in it so I doubt if I will read any more of her books. I know that fans of the fantasy/romance genre think she is quite good though.

I enjoyed this book too Wabbit. One of my favorites.:)

    Paulo Coelho: The Alchemist

I thought The Alchemist was a wonderful tale. I have re-read it a few times over the years. :)

The Thief of Always by Clive Barker

I thought this was a very good book. I didn't know there was going to be a movie, looking forward to seeing it. :)

    Stephen King: Dark Tower Series

I've read the first four books of The Darktower. So far it is a great series that I hope to finish reading someday.
