When I was a kid I would constantly dream of spiders. And falling off of buildings, slides or anything high up.

Hmm... I actually remember reading another book about this when I was in 4th or 5th grade. It was probably for young adults. I can't remember the name though... I'm gonna try and find it or I'll go crazy trying to remember.
I've read all the books and am totally obsessed with the series. He has indeed said the 12th will be the last no matter how long it must be. I'm confident that he can give it a suitable ending. The sheer complexity of the series is astounding; I'm convinced Robert Jordan is a genius.
