i saw the movie gone with the wind first and then read the book, i liked them both very much:)
i watched there will be blood recently, i didnt like it, but i suspect the book is much better - has anyone read it?also, in my opinion, the talented mr. ripley, that i saw before...
i read the book as a little girl and i remember i found it irritating a bit then - now i cant really understand where flaubert failed us - are we asked that we like his heroine? i dont think so - literature can be written about naive, not very interesting characters too, they do exist in life...
altho i dont read the same kind of books as you, i am an ocd sufferer and it affects my reading greatly - my problems do have to do with comprehension too, also with the printed word - which doesnt offer me anything really, constantly checking to see whether there are no mistakes on the page etc...
