Oh wow, Peter Straub. There's an author I hadn't thought about in years! I'm not much into horror, but I loved Straub's Ghost Story, and enjoyed Shadowland. Dang. Thanks for the reminder, sp!
 
cancer vs. capricorn

I love both The Tropic of Cancer and The Tropic of Capricorn...almost equally. However, I love the energy and almost the sensation of movement that Miller conveys in his writing and I felt that in Capricorn his philosophical ramblings kind of ruined the pace of the novel and made it a little bit less lively. Regardless, Capricorn is still one of my favorite books.

Definately a good read!!! It's hard to believe how unnoticed this man's writing goes. For those of you that love Eco, Marquez, or Rushdie and have never read Borges I strongly urge you to give it a try!! You will be pleased!
