I haven't been here in a while, like anyone noticed.

Updated Sig.

All these AP classes are keeping me quite busy, I can barely get my school books read. :p

Pride and Prejudice and Dr. Faustus are both for school as were Their Eyes were Watching God and Crime and Punishment for those of you who give a damn.

Currently reading Remember Me by Lesley Pearse. It's not the kind of thing I normally read, but I bought it for my mum's birthday, flicked through it and ended up reading the first 100 pages before I wrapped it! Now she's finished it I'm reading the rest - it's certainly a page-turner. :)

Just finished rereading Michael Marshall Smith's brilliant sci-fi novel Spares.

Right now I'm reading Porno (the novel, not the genre), by Irvine Welsh. Recently saw Trainspotting on DVD, so this novel should complete the experience.

Cheers

Iv just started Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian. Its not my usual read but it was sittin on the shelf and i decided to read it for the lack of any other books  . Its actually quite good so far, though its a bit tough to read. Can only get through about 10 pages then i need to put it down and digest what i just read lol

Amy :D

Just finished Reading Lolita in Tehran. I was going to move on to the Curious History of the Dog in the Nightime, but it's got me interested in reading or re-reading some of the classics she mentioned.

I just started Bradbury's Dandelion Wine. It is typical Ray Bradbury so far. Ahh...childhood summers in small towns! Wonderful! I am just waiting for it to get darker.

:) i started this one as well. looking forward to knowing what you think about it.

Ich kämpfe --All these AP classes are keeping me quite busy, I can barely get my school books read. :p

Aren't AP classes a killer? I had all AP classes my senior year. Here's a tip, when you think you've studied enough for the exams, study some more.

I'm currently reading Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson. Not a quick read, but very interesting.

I've been wanting to buy and read Quicksilver for ages now, ever since I read Cryptonomicon.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers

Very much so! AP Chemistry is the hardest class I've ever taken, but I like the challenge! :)

I would of had all AP classes but they don't offer an AP foreign language.

Haha, thanks for the tip, but I've already come to realize that! :p

To keep this on-topic I better talk about books...

My English class will be reading Frankenstein and Macbeth soon.

(Wait a minute! What am I doing on the Internet! I got work to do! )

Watercrystal - I LOVE Dandelion Wine! See my post in the "just finished reading". What did you think?

wow, you have already finished it? fast reader. :) i haven't yet. but what you have said there seems true. lots of magic thinking and descriptions in the book. very enjoyed it.

best wishes, :)

Started reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I'm gripped so far!

I'm impressed at the factual knowledge the book provides but I have to say that you just can't put a GPS device into a device the size of a watch battery!

I'm currently half way through Northern Lights, by Phil Pullman. Its good so far - although aimed at a younger audience compared to books i would normally read. It's nice to be able to finish a book in just 2 or 3 sittings, reminds me of being a kid, when i could read all day long.

Good enough to read the sequels, but not as great as so many critics made it out to be.

Well, I did it - for the second time in my life I gave up on a book. I was quite enjoying Irvine Welsh's Porno, but the dialect is just bleedin' impenetrable.

I don't want to take forever to finish a friggin' page.

Movin' on to I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

Cheers

I've started Milan Kundera's Ignorance. If anyone can rate his other fiction then please respond.

I liked that one- seemed fresh compared to a lot of the books I was reading at the time.

Good selection.

Anyway, I finished The World according to Garp - strange in a good sort of way. I'm now either moving onto either Earth Abides or The Da Vinci Code

Can't figure out what I want to read next, picking through Pride and Prejudice until I decide. So many options right now . . .

Finished Northern lights - it was good. i'll read the sequels soon(ish).

Currently on Swords and Deviltry, by Fritz Lieber and The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner.
Nearly finished the former, deciding between Midnights Children (Rushdie) and 100 years of solitude (Marquez).

That's why I don't list my next read on my profile. I don't know what mood I'll be in from one moment to the next.

Right now though, I'm about half way through this months Dumas novel. :)
