less than fantasy/sci fi books?

I love Charles deLint too, but here's some more to consider:

Windmaster's Bane-Tom Deitz This is the first in a series about some kids in modern day Georgia, who get to mix it up with faeries. I enjoyed it very much. Also includes Cherokee mythology..

1632- Eric Flint The first of a great series about a town in modern day West Virginia that gets swept back to Germany in the middle of the 30 year war. I really enjoy this one, and am anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Island in the Sea of Time-S.M. Stirling Modern day Nantucket is swept back to 3000 BC..lots of action all over the globe.. this is the first of a series. I recently read Dies the Fire- set in the same universe, but dealing with the results of the Change from the point of view of the ones left behind..set in the Seattle area..very hard to put down..
