Recently Purchased/Borrowed

I accidently found myself in the bookshop today.

Austerlitz - W.G. Sebald
Loitering with Intent - Muriel Spark (to be honest, I only bought this because the title neatly summed up my presence in the shop:rolleyes: )
Letters From London - Julian Barnes

I read that earlier this year. It was alright and I would read more Spark based upon it.

Anyway, a few more to add to my black Penguin Classics collection:

  • Madame Bovary, Gustave Flaubert
  • Middlemarch, George Eliot
  • The Brothers Karamazov, Fyodor Dostoevsky

I have turned my attention to getting all the Dickens novels in the black Penguin Classics range.

Bleak House, Charles Dickens
Oliver Twist, Charles Dickens
A Tale Of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
Barnaby Rudge, Charles Dickens

Er, for the sole reason they are Penguin Classics. :D
But Stewie, there are hundreds (I'm guessing) of Penguin Classics, without resorting to ol' Boz's. Might as well go for Moby Dick. ;)

Oh, and I want to read them.
Oh, good reason.

Dickens was born on my birthday, a fact that of course I must mention at every opportunity, but which has nothing to do with his long and drawn out writings.

You were doing so much better with the Dostoevsky and George Eliot. :D

Oh, there are thousands. ;)
And of course you must have them all. Those poor books though, for once you have completed your collection (!) you will move onto something else and neglect them. ;)

Which would make you almost 200 years old. You are beginning to sag, m'lady!
I think I'm aging fairly well.
