Songs Stuck In Your Head

I sometimes get random bits of songs stuck going around in my head and since they usually get stuck there by other people, I thought I'd share and see if I could inflict them on the rest of you. Share yours with the other members. I will start:

Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath.
Long about a Saturday night.

"You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille,
With 4 hungry children and a crop in the field.
I've had some bad times, lived through some sad times,
But this time your hurtin won't heal.
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille."

And then there's the Misheard Lyrics version of this song. A friend used to think Kenny Rogers was singing,"With 4 hundred children.."

No wonder she took off...

Yeah, thanks for sharing, you know how hard it is to get a song out of your head. Mine are usually kids' songs like peanut, peanut butter and jelly. Nothing like a little Barney first thing in the morning

Ha! You think Barney is bad..try Veggie Tale songs! They're all fun, and cute and ...

"If my lips ever left my mouth, packed their bags and headed south, That'd be too bad, I'd be so sad, I'd call my dad..
Because I love my lips.."

or:
Larry the Cucumber asks the age-old question:
"O WHERE is my hairbrush? O Where is my hairbrush? O Where, O where o where..............................Is my hairbrush??" Bob the Tomato replies:
" I gave it to the peach, 'cause he has hair"

or

"The bunny, the bunny, oooooh I love the bunny" (a GIANT chocolate bunny)

Just remember muggle, you asked for it :)

You're in the army now, you're not behind a plow.
Diggin a ditch won't get your rich, you're in the army now!

And to make it worse, it's nearly always songs I wasnt that crazy about anyway. It's funny what triggers these "ear worms"..sometimes all it takes is a road sign..ie...Memphis 100 miles..."long distance information, give me Memhis Tn"... :p

Right Where It Belongs - Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) said:
See the animal in his cage that you built,
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye,
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?

See the safety of the life you have built,
Everything where it belongs.
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart,
And it's all,
Right where it belongs.

What if everything around you,
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?

And if you look at your reflection,
Is that all you want to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks,
Would you find yourself,
Find yourself afraid to see?

What if all the world's inside of your head,
Just creations of your own?
Your Devils and your Gods,
All the living and the dead,
And you're really all alone?

You can live in this illusion,
You can choose to believe.
You keep looking but you can't find the words,
Now you're hiding in retreat.

What if everything around you,
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you used to know,
Is an elaborate dream?

And if you look at your relection,
Is that all you want to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks,
Would you find yourself,
Find yourself afraid to see?

Can't get this song outta my head...

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
But I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
(let sombody love you)
You better let somebody love you
before it's too late

All this talk about song lyrics made me want to hear this song..

Does anyone make up their own songs during the day? I make up little ditties about what ever I'm doing, to get me through the day, my son hates them. :D

I get that one stuck in my head often :)

Well that'll be the day
When you say good-bye
Yes that'll be the day
When you make me cry
You say you're gonna leave
You know it's a lie'cause that'll be the day
When I die

and then there's the classic:

Listen to the jingle, the rumble and the roar,
As she glides along the woodlands,
Through the hills and by the shore.
We're travelin through the jungles
On the Wabash Cannonball.

Around here we have a time honored tradition of fracturing lyrics to favorite songs..for instance, did you know that originally, Willie Nelson wanted to record Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Psyhologists? Waylon Jennings threw a fit, and they changed the lyrics to the ones we all know...
And John Denver originally wrote Leaving in A Gremlin, but the GMAC folkd demanded too much in royalties, so he made a few changes... :D

Is it any wonder that his face was red
Kaw-Li-Ga that poor old wooden head...

How about "you get a line and I'll get a pole and we'll go down to the fishing hole"
