Ever read a book and years later want to re-read it but have no idea what it was?

Tell us about it! We've all been there. So, what do you remember about this book? I'll bet someone here can help you remember the title.

Sort of. I remember seeing this book about angels that had a quote from one reviewer comparing it to Anne Rice's vampire novels. Having no money at the time I didn't buy it. If only I took the time to memorize the author or title . . . *sighs*

This MIGHT be the Samaria Series by Sharon Shinn. The first book she wrote in this series is Archangel, but the first book chronologically is Angelica.
I really like these books. I wish she'd write more of them.

Archangel
"Angels and men exist in harmony on the world of Samaria. Every twenty years, a new Archangel is chosen to govern the land and lead all the people of Samaria in a great musical chorale to honor the god Jovah. But Gabriel, the Archangel-elect, finds himself constantly feuding with Rachel, the bride who has been chosen for him by Jovah—and he is slowly coming to realize that the aging Archangel Raphael has no intention of giving up his power, even if it means all of Samaria could be destroyed."

Funny tidbit from the author:
The Alleluia Files
"When that gorgeous cover flat arrived, I took it around the office where I worked at the time and said, "Would this image make you want to read this book?" One of my co-workers said, "It makes me want to meet the model." I got my copy of the trade paperback signed by JJP, so it's a highlight of my library."

My memory of this book isn't the greatest, nor is it even good but from
what I remember, there was a boy that lived with his mother and there were
some type of Indian/native sacred grounds he wasn't supposed to venture
into but he did. He meets up with a girl that has distinctively green eyes
and dark skin, the two end up married I believe. Other points include a
disease that is spread by blood, not sure what it was called and i
remember the man and green eyed woman making love in a castle keep or
something like, not sure if there was a battle of some sort or if his love
was forbidden. There were fantasy parts I believe, it wasn't just a romance
novel but yes that's all I have. Thanks much in helping me. Google did no
justice for me. Maybe I can be directed to a site that could help. Thanks!

This was also around 2003, no idea whether it was a new book or not. I know I was the first person to read that copy.

I sure wish I'd kept reading lists way back then! I've seen one or two lifetime reading lists online, and felt jealous that I hadn't thought of it myself.
Same here. I've been trying to add more books to my read section on Listal and I wish I could remember more titles from my youth to input.

I read this book called The Other Side - it was the spaciest book I've read, really maudlin but I can't find it anywhere! Totally agree with abecedarian, I'm jealous of the lifetime lists too...
